Cecilia Bertling is a multifaceted artist who was influenced by he 1970s. She spent time in America involved in the Flower Power movement. This era has since characterised her artistry and storytelling.

She has previously worked as a scenographer and interior decorator. Taking the step to working with textiles and design patterns based on paintings was a natural evolution of her art.

“Bright colours are the inspiration behind my paintings. Influences from travelling and foreign places I bring back home with me to my cold North. They come to life on large screens while the snow is falling outside my window.”

Alex&Elle are proud to share two new designs by Cecilia; LADIES and FLORIDA.

"The design LADIES is inspired by how people like to be seen, and how we express ourselves. Here I am and I like you to see me. Strong colors express life force - Gray is in the grave!"
