Since my first encounter with Alex and Elle I was blown away by their stunning collection of fabric art. I Love having a tactile piece of artwork that’s soft to touch and stimulating to look at especially styling it with our timber furniture.

Nature’s Secret’s Tasmanian furniture and Scandinavian artwork goes hand in hand as both areas are renowned for their natural beauty. Nature is the biggest link between both our brands as their artwork is mostly inspired by Nature and our furniture is made by nature.

Designing a space around timber can be difficult especially when working with the combination of hard wood floor and timber furniture. Some people might think it can be too overwhelming but personally I think that’s wrong. It can come down to styling hard furnishings with soft furnishings to create a visual harmony. This is why I was delighted to stock Alex and Elle’s fabric art to create a tactile experience for the consumer through the tactility of the hard timber to the soft artwork above it. I get such satisfaction seeing a customer run their hands across a dining table and then touching the artwork and realising it’s fabric.
My favourite artwork is the Strelizia print as the vibrant green leaves and orange flowers compliment our Tasmanian Oak timber and the cushions look fresh and clean against our timber beds. Pairing our Tasmanian furniture and Alex and Elle’s artwork make a beautiful visual harmony through a simple colour palette that compliments our timbers from our lighter shades of Tasmanian Oak to darker timbers like Blackwood.
