Carl Larsson's Christmas Eve
We would like to thank you for your support this year and wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you have a wonderful start of 2019.
We will be celebrating in the traditional Swedish way - in Christmas Eve with a smorgasbord filled with classic delicatessen, similar to the painting above.
This artwork is called "Christmas Eve" and was painted by the famous Swedish artist Carl Larsson in 1904 of his family's Christmas celebrations.
Carl was representative of the Arts and Crafts movement. His many paintings include oils, watercolours, and frescoes. He considered his finest work to be Midvinterblot, a large painting now displayed inside the Swedish National Museum of Fine Art in Stockholm, Sweden.
